Working with Co-stars - A Reminder... Animals don't care about the camera.
These videos show just how talented The Croc Hunter was. When working with animals - they always have to be the primary focus. The camera is number 2....

Reporters are trained to look at the camera....focus on the animal is automatically secondary...and that's when it gets ugly.

Cat Dancer, Horse Soccer, Cat Research - kinda...and a Farewell

Animals offer extraordinary insight into the mundane. They add zest, grace, and occasional mystery to otherwise routine activities. They model strength, courage, inquisitiveness, wonder, joy, and unconditional giving. What can we offer in exchange?? Love.

Ready to bust a move?? - Hint: gentle stretching is highly advised before trying these moves.

Problems with The Chips?

News that chip implants have been linked to animal tumors is causing controversy and questions over the safety of those already implanted in people and pets.

The lab results in question were done on mice - and that information did not get to the AMA committee reviewing the case for approval of the chip implant in humans.

According to one doctor.
["There's no way in the world, having read this information, that I would have one of those chips implanted in my skin, or in one of my family members," said Dr. Robert Benezra, head of the Cancer Biology Genetics Program at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York.

Before microchips are implanted on a large scale in humans, he said, testing should be done on larger animals, such as dogs or monkeys. "I mean, these are bad diseases. They are life-threatening. And given the preliminary animal data, it looks to me that there's definitely cause for concern."

Published in veterinary and toxicology journals between 1996 and 2006, the studies found that lab mice and rats injected with microchips sometimes developed subcutaneous "sarcomas" - malignant tumors, most of them encasing the implants."]

Expect more fallout from this.

And remember - no matter how good your dog thinks you are -- you might want to temper that warm fuzzy ... keeping in mind .... dogs are also famous for their preference for toilet bowl water.

(However, I do recall a recent study that compared the purity level of certain ice cubes and toilet water... ice cubes lost. But I digress.)
