Alianna Boone has a soft spot in her heart for pets...and she plays a harp - Her CD Harp Music to Soothe the Savage Beast has a proven track record. She studied with a Vet to see what tones worked and those results were published in 2003. Audio Interview with Alianna.

Pets are getting caught up in the foreclosure squeeze. Shelters are noting an increase in numbers due to homeowners having no where else to turn.

Dog Zen - Tourists are checking out Conan the praying dog. He sits down twice a day before he eats...his master says he probably caught on after watching him. The next challenge... teaching Conan to meditate.

Hospital security turned away a guy who brought a favorite horse to cheer up a sick patient. They caught up with him on the elevator at the third floor. He and the horse rode back down and went to flag the patient from the outside lawn. Said the patient, "That's not my horse."

Hate Cancer - Love this story. Eve lost one leg to cancer now her human companions are paying for chemo to try to save the second and her too.... Eve is a chicken. Obviously a beloved pet, Eve seems to be holding her own, still laying eggs, including one on the way to see the vet.

His and Her Jumpers with a "tail" to tell... -- AKA - dog hair sweaters.

And moms may already have this one bookmarked... Vets might like it even better. You know em - you love em -- the veggies singing about a Veterinarian.

Pet News Bites - Whale of a rescue! This sheep isn't sheepish

Dolphin Guardian -- a dolphin known for her friendly antics astonished human rescuers who were having no luck luring two whales off the beach. When she showed up, they perked up and followed her out to sea. She earned a pat from one of the researchers who said - after seeing that - he couldn't resist telling her thank you. Could it be the dolphin is conducting her own study?

Skydiving Cat -- why?? -- apparently, they don't film the ending but I can picture an ambulance just fine.

Camera would have been good for this one. A Sheep with "Tude out ran police cars (in town), hurdled them and beat up dogs who tried to pursue it....now in custody...Officials begging for the owner to step forward... Hmmm. Left the gate open. Oopss. (wink, wink)

Across the pond - owners are fewer - but money spent on pet pampering is increasing.

A shift on the horizon. Might we stop using animals to pitch products because it is "undignified"?
