The amazing story of Baxter the Therapy dog highlighted - for me - the soul connections we make with pets through unconditional loving presence. I loved hearing and seeing how this gentle being impacted his patients and opened a window to joy and acceptance to all who were fortunate to share his energy. I am sorry to hear of his passing.
He will be missed but the story he took part in and the life he modeled gives yet another recipe for sharing quality time with animals -- last moments are no less valuable than the moments preceding them. Baxter, the worlds best, most devoted, and oldest therapy dog, 19 years and 6 months, eased peacefully from his life on Friday afternoon, October 16th, 2009.
