PetSense Animal Insight - seeing the light

"If you have men who will exclude any of God's  creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who  will deal likewise with their fellow men." - Francis of Assisi

The shift is here.  As we begin to discern and acknowledge our connectedness to all that is, consciousness is transforming itself. A domino effect, lights are twinkling into being on multiple planes of knowing. The multi-verse is blossoming into new awareness.

Divine guidance has never been limited to presenting itself in human form. Listening to messages and communication from animals (in whatever form that manifests) is part of what is called for at this time.

Not being Catholic, I wondered why my guides - from the beginning of this nightlight adventure  - almost 15 years ago now - kept directing me to places like the Church in Taos. (San Francisco de Asis Church)

And when I went, extraordinary things happened. I got names, insight, visions, direction. I was rewarded for my willingness to go where I was called - rewarded for blind faith.

I found the connection to be St. Francis. The message was urgent. It had to do with paying attention to animals, animal spirit and nature.

I began to allow and open to information that came from spirit guides on animals in general and to be aware of animal messages and animal spirit messengers. I discovered nature spirits, guardian spirits and so much more.

It has nothing to do with creating a story or history of a psychic nature...at least that is not my part in it. The intended communication is that - at this moment in time - animals are our co-travelers and co-creators. Everything they are showing us, in their living, dying and how they go about being in the world is a way of telegraphing information to us on what we are doing in our actions...active/passive/conscious/subconscious and how that energy impacts them and everything else on the manifest plane.

Some information comes through on the conscious plane while more of it comes through our subconscious connections. If we can allow, those who are considered to be "animals" can teach us more than we ever thought possible.

As we all are, they are more than what they seem. They know things that continue to remain hidden from us. As we have not determined the true limits of our own minds and abilities, we do not know what hidden abilities our animal companions possess. As we deny their potential, our own potential withers.

My pets have been a great help in providing insight into the spirit plane and allowing me to experience things and events I thought were impossible ... It forced me to give much more thought into my actions and interactions with all animals...and humans on every level. I truly rely upon my pets to show me what I have missed and to alert me to things I am unable to see.

While I have no doubt about the abilities of animals to interact and see things we are blind to, it certainly helps to present images that create a frame of reference for that viewpoint. Thanks to Jesse and Suzy - we have a picture to illustrate what a thousand words can't.

Of the many images that were taken for this photo, only one had an orb. And as it happened, the cat was caught in her attempt to interact with it. What the cat sees? We don't know. The fact that she does see something she feels she can interact with is worthy of further investigation. Having pets who keep us informed of that presence in our lives: priceless.

Evolution of Soul - love and learn

 Life is an individual experience.
Only you know what you see.
Many see only what they know.
 ~ Talking To Nightlights

I have been here before - saying goodbye to a beloved pet companion. Even though I know death is not an end, the letting go is not getting any easier. The empty space in my physical world echos a concrete void of my loss.

How time flies! Rowdy was one of the triggers for the passage on transmigration of soul in my book Talking To Nightlights.

I had never even considered the prospect that we might try out a life as anything other than human - until the Energy - in trying to help me deal with my grief, introduced me to a new view of the path our souls can take. Soul is soul: the package may vary.

Interestingly enough, tonight is the night I decided to finish the book I started a couple of months ago - The Art of Racing in the Rain. The dog tells the story and it is his wish, when he is done with his life, to come back as a human. It had an ending I hadn't expected; one I believe in.

Along with our dog Gracie, we took Rowdy and Chloe, my other cat, on vacation with us in November, a move that helped to keep his health stable as he began his gradual physical down-slide. I am now so very grateful that  worked out for us. It was a trip we all enjoyed.

In  the final weeks, Rowdy had good days and so-so days. He battled IBS. We  found some food combinations worked better than others but there was no  perfect solution. One truth he confided made me feel a bit guilty. He said I paid more attention to him if he was sick. He had a point.

Unlike previous pets who allowed and/or required me to help them transition through euthanasia, Rowdy wanted no help. He maintained his composure and ability to function until the final hours. To the point of telling me to give him space. In no uncertain terms, the words were clear. "Leave me alone. I need to do this."

Painful - hearing that. I can imagine it was just as painful for him to push me away. The amazing thing is, until the final hours, I had no idea the strength of his will power and how incredible a being he truly was/is.

In the early moments after his passing, I found myself pleading with him - just one more breath - and the guidance came: "Now you know why you could not be present for his transition." It hit me then how much I had been attached and, indeed, holding him back. He chose to undergo a conscious death. In so doing, he was impeccable.

What is different this time is that my pain has eased much more quickly and I am feeling contact from him. Our agreement is different than any I have had with my other pets. I am now looking forward to seeing what this might be like. I can't say for sure - but I suspect he has a few surprises - as when I tried to check in earlier and was told a certain time to honor - because...he was busy. That made me smile.

A small comfort in a way, knowing our pets have stuff to do elsewhere when their stuff here is done. They are very much like us; learning, growing and evolving. And that might be why they forgive us when we require lifetimes of lessons in learning how to be better human beings/spirit companions/souls. The love never dies.

Rowdy stayed present as his health deteriorated and he began spending more time gazing at my nightlights. I wasn't quite sure what to make of that except to know that we are spirit and whatever the Energy can convey to me - Rowdy might be aware of. It seemed to be - as it is with me - reassurance and caring. I suspect there may have been some instruction as well but that information was blocked from me.

Subdued in the days directly prior to his transition, the nightlights became very active after Rowdy passed. In counter to my crying, the lights offered a tiny, blinky-blink celebration, trying to let me know once again everything is alright. We are not the body. We are so much more. As are our pets.

Rowdy is (at home in the) Light.

Make that "To Go" --

“See here, Jonathan,” said his father, not unkindly. “Winter isn’t far away. Boats will be few, and the surface fish will be swimming deep. If you must study, then study food, and how to get it. This flying business is all very well, but you can’t eat a glide, you know. Don’t you forget that the reason you fly is to eat.” - from Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach

Warm Fuzzy start to 2011

The best times are often those we share with others. :)

Welcome to 2011 - new year, new direction. I may not post as frequently, but more and more of the posts will be geared toward helping make connections to various ways we can become more connected to the animal spirit in our every day living.

In identfying how you are already connected to and working with animal spirit, consider all the animals you encounter in various form throughout the day and those who manage to capture the most attention.

What do you have in common...or not? Can you create a connection? Is there a desire to understand more? Open a door.

The first step is simply to pay attention and value the animal presence in one's life. Time to laugh and awaken.

Adorable.

I have had and will share some of my own experiences with animals and animal spirit guides but, for the most part, I am happy passing on information and linking to others who focus on animal connections and teaching about how to improve upon that if one is so inclined.

I can say with great emphasis, any time spent improving upon one's own intuitive connection with our animal kin is time well spent. Animals are here to help take us to the next level in our conscious evolution. It is their goal to help us move forward.
