Their story is now popping up all across the viral scene. She says she gave a guy a ride home, and his son was so grateful that he rewarded her with a baby squirrel that cried every two hours around the clock, wanting to be fed from a bottle.
And, in her view -- “That was better than if he’d given me a $100 bill.”
Life with Zipper includes an occasional speed bump. Mixon was at bar when Zipper bit someone who tried to touch her. The resulting court order required Mixon to get a wildlife rehabilitation license to keep Zipper and Zipper got three months’ house arrest.
A bright spot on the horizon: Mixson says she is writing a children’s book about Zipper’s life.
